I have Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Extended installed and activated on my system. The installation for the upgrade from disk for CS6 extended doesn't recognize that the CS5 Extended installation exists or accepts its serial number and I can't proceed. It also doesn't give me CS5 Extended as an option in the drop down menu for previous installations. CS5 shows as being activated on my computer. I did have to do a full system restore to a new hard disk some six weeks ago when my C drive crashed.

May I know from where you purchased PS CS6 upgrade from ?
Is PS CS 5.1, student version by any chance ?
You purchased just the upgrade to PS CS 6 or full suite ?

I had bought the full CS5 suite online from Adobe (boxed version) and the CS6 Upgrade from Adobe (also boxed version). Both are registered
Have decided to re-install CS5 and will then try the upgrade. Will let you know how I go.

It worked when I re-installed CS5, did all the updates. CS5 Extended showed up in the drop down menu. All fine thanks.
