    Blu-ray Output Disc Image -format?

    JamesValis Community Member

If I author a Blu-ray disc in Adobe Encore 5.1 and I select "Format: Blu-ray" " Output:Disc Image" in the build window what kind of disc image do I get?

Is the resulting disc image a BDCMF image Type A?

I've been looking through the help files and I can't find anything and I've searched the forums but I can't find anything.

Is there a way to ask this question of someone at Adobe?  If so, how do I submit it?

Another way of asking this question is:  Have any of you submitted a disc image created this way to a replication facility and was it accepted?

      Thanks in adavance,

      James

          Hi James.

As we have already discussed, I cannot see any way to do this although I am sure it is supposed to be possible in CS6.

The problem I see here is that a BDCMF image cannot be written to a BD-R or a BD-RE disc, it cannot be played in a player or in software, and submitting a BD-R or a BD-RE disc for replication will get thrown back at you. Problem is that there is no AACS information here.

AFAIK, the output from "Build Disc Image" gives you an image that can be burned to disc - ergo it cannot be a BDCMF image. All I see are options for disc type, and that is BD-R BD-RE or BD-ROM. None of these are BDCMF.

Someone must know - BluStream]kTracer is Mac OS only - which considering Stevie Jobs would not go near BD is kind of ironic, really, and doubly so when you realise there are absolutely no commercial grade BD authoring tools for a Mac. They are all PC only.

          (Sony's BluPrint & DoStudio, and Sonic's Scenarist BD v4 (2D) and v5 (3D).

          Isn't this a fun format!!
