Using CS5 after CS6 is installed

I'm still learning CS6, and have occasionally run into problems which I'm not yet able to get around.  This is fine most of the time as I'm still learning, but occasionally I need to revert back to CS5 to produce something quickly using an existing .ai file created in CS5.

-- if I try to open the file with CS5, using the "Open with" method, CS5 doesn't appear on the list of programs I can open with.

-- if I use the "Place" command in CS5,  on a CS5 file, I lose a lot of useful information such as the names I've given to all the layers. and the colors I've used to differentiate them.

-- and of course, if I try to open a CS5 file in CS5, it will open in CS6

Is there a way I can open a CS5 in CS5?  Or is there a way I can add CS5 to the list of programs available that I can open with for a CS5 file?  Or any other solution which I'm totally overlooking?
