"Use Custom Baseline Grid" is automatically (and undesirably) activated on new pages added to the end of the thread.
This happens whether new text is pasted into the end of the text, or upon a page break. Investigating with CMD+B, all pages preceding the newly added pages do not have the "Custom" box checked (they demonstrate the Preferences>Grid settings), yet the new ones do.
How does one eliminate this phenomenon in InDesign CS5?
I have a feeling I am overlooking something very simple, but sometimes I lose the forest among all the trees. Thanks in advance.
At some point you must have checked the box to use custom grids with no text frame selected. To fix that in existing docs, uncheck it with no frames selected. and verify that it is also unchecked with no files open to keep it from being the default in new files.
Your recommendation fixed the problem. Thank you.
The remedy was simple to perform, but the root cause buried in a nuance I wasn't within a light year of identifying. [hat tip]
