Hi. I'm using a couple of filters such as Neat Video reduce noise and Warp that are computationally very expensive but don't modify the resulting image so much. I want them in my final cut, but I don't need to see them in preview and it takes literally hours to render previews for a 6-minute piece with them turned on. Is there a way I can specify "bypass this for all preview work but turn it on when I finally export" for these filters ?
Copy your complete timeline to a new timeline and turn off your effects there for preview purrposes only. Use the original timeline for your final cut. You can't use a nested sequence, you need to select all, copy and paste into a new timeline and manually turn off the effects.
You can also put your effects on an Adjustment Layer(s) in CS6, and just disable the layer eyeball for effect-less previews.
You can turn off any effect by clicking on the "fx" icon to the left of the effect's name in the Effects Control Panel.
