      hi,

i have a recycling symbol that i want to paste onto another image. the recycling symbol as it currently is has a white background. how do i, using fireworks mx, make the background of the recycling image *transparent* so that i can paste only the symbol onto the other image.

Why not use the Recycling symbol from the Web Dings font set? That way
you can color and scale it as you wish.

If your recycling symbol is anti-aliased to the white background, you won't be able to erase the white background without leaving a halo behind. I like Linda's suggestion.

If you need something special about yours, though, and yours is black and white, set your image as a layer above the image you want it on and set the layer to Multiply instead of Normal. (If it's color, rather than black and white, this method won't work.)
