I could be wrong, but I do not believe that PrPro can be installed on a "portable drive," though with the program installed on the boot drive, one can edit to/from a fast enough external.
Maybe Todd, or another Adobe employee can either confirm, or deny the above.
Good luck, and travel safely,
OK, thanks. I was a bit uneasy about trying to have two Prod Prem versions on the same internal partition, so I thought external might be an option.
One thought, though it might not help, depending on where you travel to, but you might explore the Creative Cloud option?
Please let us know what you find out.
Thanks Bill, I've google around a bit and not hit the right combo to get anything really. Internet, I am told, is off/on and not very fast where I will be.
Part of me has toyed around with the idea of using FCPX as a backup, since we have it on both machines anyway. Looking at some user groups seems to show lots of bugs there too, though the last update is apparently much more stable. Of course, "much more stable" is relative.
So far we've not had any issues with CS6 on the MacBook Pro, but we're only testing, no official projects to really put it though the ringer. I have a bad feeling though.
