    Encore CS6 & DTS-HD MA

    m2425 Community Member

      I have 4 question about Encore CS6:

      1. When I imported my 3 DTS-HD MA audio file (2.0 1503 kbps @ 24 frames/sec, the duration of the audio is about 24:09) Encore is telling me that my duration time of the 3 files are 1:29:09, 2:03:12 & 0:29:03, why is that? I made these files on my mac mini with DTS-HD Master Audio Suite & I'm using Encore CS6 on my PC with Windows 7.
      2. What is "export highlights in rich color for encore" because when I check it my buttons doesn't have any color for the activate state for my buttons.
      3. Is there any limit on how many multi-page menus are in a blu-ray and is there a limit on how many pages can be in a menu?
      4. I was doing just a simple blu-ray with just one multi-page menu with 5 pages with 3 buttons each and no video or audio; 15mbps & pcm, and I'm getting this error: Blu-ray Error: "fatal error", Code: "6", Note: "Graphics buffer underflows." - Failed to multiplex with maximum IG PTS: 54900000 (in 90kHz).

When Encore imports the DTS-HD audio, it does a background processing to determine the properties of the file (e.g duration of the file.) When this processing is complete, the duration will revert back to what Encore has found it to be. You will receive a Duration Changed Warning message after this. If you had put the audio file in a timeline, then you will have to adjust the duration manually.

If this is not happenning in you case, please try creating the project again.

          1. What is "export highlights in rich color for encore" because when I check it my buttons doesn't have any color for the activate state for my buttons.

"Export Highlight in Rich color" is a new feature added in CS6. This feature allowes you to have your button highlights for Blu-ray to be more color rich. This removes the 2-bit highlight color restriction that was imposed in Blu-ray. Now you can put a color rich image as your highlights and you will be able to see that image in Blu-ray.

But this again depends on the menu layer structure. If you have all highlights layer (=1,=2,=3), then it will show the =1 for Normal state, =2 for selected state and =3 for activated state.

But if you have only one highlight layer for a button, then it will show that layer for selected and activated state. And if you have any two layers , say you have only =1 and =2, then you will not have any highlight for the third state (activated state).

Now you can check your menu structure and verify what the problem is.

Actually, Blu-ray spec does not impose any limit on the number of menu pages but it does have some limit for the interactive graphics buffer. Having more pages with more buttons increases the size of the interactive graphics that gives out this error.

Hope this answers all your queries.

On the DTS-HD MA file, if I manually adjust the duration will that affect the audio file? And yeah I only had =1 & =2 for the highlights, so I'm going to fix that.

Is there a way to add menu/buttons to a slideshow? Because I have some blu-rays that have this option, here's a pic of what I mean:

Look at the updated duration of the audio file in Project Window and also if you see some Hash marks on the audio in the timeline, then you can safely trim the audio in the timeline to remove all those hash marks.

Encore, as of now, does not support to have any interactivity onto the slideshow. You can apply transition, manual advance and add audio and subtitles to the slideshow but you can not have a button on the slidehsow that can let you navigate in the project.

I wonder if I can do this in BDedit...

I have never used BDEdit. So I am not sure if it can do that.

Its a great program for "BDedit"ing but I still don't know 99% of the codes for blu-rays.
