I am struggling to create a PDF which will allow clients to mark-up (using 'sticky post-notes') using Adobe Reader. I've studied all the fields in the Export Adobe PDF dilaogue box, including the Security settings and examined the preferences – and still can't find an answer. I open it on my own Adobe Reader and under Tools there is no Comment & Markup Toolbar, which I understand needs to be present.
Help! Anybody out there with an answer... please?
You need to enable commenting in Acrobat Pro after the export. Other than the new, limited, forms capabilities in CS6, there is still no way inside ID to enable the user to mark up a PDF.
One of the innovations with Reader version X is that it now allows two kinds of commenting, Sticky Notes and Highlighting (fancier comments still require "enabling" with full Acrobat). However, some folks prefer older versions, before the new interface re-arranged the locations for various tools and altered some details of printing.
