I was wondering if anyone had an idea on that :
On the interactive PDF workflow, everything is fine when using Adobe Reader to view an embedded video, but Preview, on mac, won't show you anything.
Trick seems to require making a link too an actual video, online, may be, or to propose the user to download Adobe Reader.
And this is where i require an actual image/file to be displayed by Preview.
This is what my demo file looks like.
in Apple Preview, i will only get the red banners…
Here is the rendered file : http://fr32c.free.fr/Flash/Video+online+Btns.pdf
Any ideas welcome
I use a "fallback" picture bellow the video, but effectively this is a manual process:
I also use a classical "Apple Preview" limitation (or non Adobe PDF viewer, including mobile) on the viewing/hiding a layer on PDF.
Preview couldn't hidde a layer, so I put on the first page of the document an alert message on a hidden layer
Here the result and the sources
Perhaps someone in the develpper community could automate that tricks, but actually that works
Excellent answer, thank you (i knew i saw that somewhere, but couldn't find the source
But sure, my first request still is getting an actual file for the poster image taking the right place !
