Welcome to Adobe Forums,
You can download Adobe Flash Player 11.3 from here :
Note : Download the installer and save it on Desktop, close all the browser windows and then install it
... it downloads but will not allow me to install.
How does it "not allow" you to install - do you get an error message? Are you installing as an Administrator user?
P.S. the link that Vikram posted earlier is the offline installer for Internet Explorer, the offline installer for the Firefox plugin is http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_ 11_plugin.exe
When I clinked on the link you sent, I got the box asking me to save the file. I did, and it saved to my "downloads," not to the desktop. I waited a few moments but got no message that the file had completed saving. So I clicked on "tools" and "downloads," and the file was at the top of the page but had not downloaded. It said "canceled." So I right-clicked on the file and hit "retry." The file seemed to download, and the window appeared at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen telling me that the file had completed saving to the computer. I went back into the downloads and double-clicked the file, and nothing happened. Then I right-clicked on the file. Six options appeared, with "open" at the top of the box in gray ~ it would not allow me to click on the "open" option. The only options from which I could choose and get a response were to copy the link, "select all," or remove the download from the list. Now the whole time I have been responding to you, I am continuously having a pop-up box telling me there is an "Internal Server Error" on this webpage. I don't know what else to try.
And, yes, I am installing as the administrator.
The name of the file that you downloaded into the Downloads folder is install_flash_player_11_plugin.exe
The size of the file should be 9,815,752 bytes = 9,586 KB = 9.36 MB; can you check if the size of your file is exactly the same (right-click | Properties)?
On that same panel, near the bottom, there is a Security section; can you try to click on the 'Unblock' button on the right?
If all this does not help, can you try to download the alternate MSI installer, and see if this does the job: http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_ 11_plugin.msi
The file that you said should be downloading has the correct name and size. I could not find the security section to "unblock." I did find a suggestion on the Mozilla forum page that someone posted: to set up another admin account on the computer and try the download from there. I didn't need to set up a new account; I just went to my husband's, as he also has an admin account. It worked with no problem, which tells me there is something going on with my account that I would still like to figure out. And it was not just Adobe's downloads I was having trouble with. I tried to install a Java update, and it wouldn't work through my account either, but I got it taken care of through my husband's account, too.
Thanks for the help, though!
