Latest version of Flash installed but not recognised on other sites

    elphie91

First off, I’m using Vista 32-bit with IE-7 and I supposedly have 11.3.300.257 installed. Although I have definitely installed it, and it shows up fine here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html for some reason it does not work on other sites that require Flash (e.g Pottermore or the Adobe Website Storage Settings panel). They tell me that I need to install Flash and have a link directing me to install the version that’s already installed!

I’ve done a ‘clean install’ by doing the following:

      1. Download the current uninstaller Uninstaller for 32 bit Operating Systems
      2. Close all browser windows and run the uninstaller
      3. Restart Windows
      4. Delete all remaining files and folders located in the following directories.  (tip: copy and paste these paths into the path bar in an Explorer window)
        • C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
        • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash (if it exists)
        • %appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
        • %appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player
      5. Verify that the file “FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl” in C:\Window\system32\ for 32 bit systems

I’ve also followed all the troubleshooting steps here:

      http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_3__Enable_Fla sh_Player_Add_ons__if_you_are_using_Internet_Explorer_8_

(apart from the one involving the Website Storage Settings panel obviously!)

      Any other suggestions? HELP!!!
