Why would you want to do this?
As I was hitting enter to log my question I realized I should have specified what I was trying to do. There may be a much better way.
I would like to get to the date of the swf compilation or other command line args to provide a visual indication of the version of that swf when it is run, and programmatic indication of version so that support decisions may be made at runtime. I do not want to have to change static text every time I compile, but would rather generate a version based on compilation time.
That said, how may this be accomplished?
Try the FileSystemDataGrid control it lets you display the contents of a single file system directory in a data grid format. Haven't used it my self but looks like something you could use
I believe that's an Air class for local file system access. It would also not gain me any information contained within the currently executing swf.
