1. Re: Embed Vimeo Video
Cristian Radu. Jul 3, 2012 4:54 AM (in response to EckleySP)Hi EckleySP,
If you have a link where we can see the code, would be great to share it (is your site published on BC?).
However please try again and let us know if the problem persists. I just went to Vimeo and picked the first video from the main page and then got the code that I inserted as HTML in Muse on a test page here. As you can see it's working fine.
Cheers,
Cristian

2. Re: Embed Vimeo Video
EckleySP Jul 3, 2012 1:13 PM (in response to Cristian Radu.)I have gone to one of the videos on my Vimeo page and selected Share. I have no options selected. Here's the code:
<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/44992941?title=0" width="500" height="341" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe>
When it's applied, I get this:
I'm sure from the tutorials that I should see something more. And, when I Preview the page the purple-ish box disappears altogether.

AnneCarmen Jul 3, 2012 1:29 PM (in response to EckleySP)If you preview the site in the browser you are going to see the video... but not inside muse...

4. Re: Embed Vimeo Video
EckleySP Jul 3, 2012 1:52 PM (in response to AnneCarmen)I don't see the video when I Preview the design. I know that Muse has a built in browser - which is what you see when you Preview (right?). I don't see anything (of the video) when I preview the page (that I added the HTML code to).
If I understood your comment correctly. . .
And, just as another 'test', I just embedded code from YouTube and when I do I get a BLACK Screen in the Design mode and I see the video in Preview mode. So - again - it works with YouTube.

AnneCarmen Jul 3, 2012 2:12 PM (in response to EckleySP)Actually I checked my site where I used embedded vimeo and it does not preview at all, not even when you to to file and then preview site in browser, but when I uploaded the site to my server it worked just fine.... so try to upload the site and see if it is working.
Anne.

6. Re: Embed Vimeo Video
EckleySP Jul 3, 2012 2:18 PM (in response to AnneCarmen)I'll see what I can do. I use a 'non-adobe' hosting site, so I would need to go through several steps (that I've never done before) to replace what I have with 'code' from Muse. And, I'm not done designing/building yet, so I can't just replace the live site . . . and even when I'm done if things don't work, I'm not sure how to get back to what I have now. I really like Muse, but I know I have a lot to work through after I'm done with the creative part.
Thanks for all the suggestions/help.

7. Re: Embed Vimeo Video
AnneCarmen Jul 3, 2012 2:27 PM (in response to EckleySP)I also use a non-Adobe hosting and it really is very easy to update the site, through an ftp transfer software. Anyway, vimeo embedding worked for me, I embedded lots of videos on my site and they all worked OK.
Good luck!

8. Re: Embed Vimeo Video
Cristian Radu. Jul 5, 2012 1:10 AM (in response to EckleySP)Hey EckleySP,
Use the option existing in Muse: "Preview Page in Browser" (shortcut is CTRL+SHIFT+E if you are on Windows, CMD+SHIFT+E on Mac) and accept any notification from your default browser to display all content (if asked). It will preview the page and the video will work just fine.
If you would like to take your content on-line then you should really try using an FTP client as AnneCarmen specified.
After you connect to your hosting through FTP upload (into a folder or into the root of your site) just the page where you placed your Vimeo code. If you would like you could also create the "css" folder in the same location where you decide to upload your file and put the corresponding css there so you will see it exactly how it looks.
Good luck with your project!
Cristian
