Welcome to the forum.
This is a general Adobe program install ARTICLE, but might be helpful. Most of the tips are for when things progress beyond where you are hanging up.
For what you describe, I woud Copy your PrE DVD to a folder on one of your internal HDD's. Then, try to install from there, rather than from the DVD.
Please report how that works.
Thanks, I'll give that a try.
I copied disk 2 to a thumb drive using my desktop. Then installed thumb drive in my laptop, found the "autoplay" program and started the install. At least it got that far. During install it encountered an error "installing shared technologies". I read in the PE10 help manual that antivirus programs should be turned off before installing. I did that, but with the same result.
Well, have gotten a little further. I'll take a look at your referened article.
The article mentions several things to turn OFF, before trying to install.
I tried turning them all off, but no luck. Then copied from thumb drive to the hard drive and re-tried with anti-virus, etc. on. IT WORKED.
This is only a GUESS... but it seems to me that "something" with your computer configuration is causing some kind of communication problem with some of your hardware
Install programs can be very fussy at times, and any "interruption" in the processs may cause a failure
At least copying everything to a hard drive folder worked
