1. Re: what is the best way to apply a template to the rebranded partner site?
Brad Lawryk Jul 2, 2012 5:47 PM (in response to 5iveMEDIA)Many of us are in the same boat.
Unfortunately there is no easy way to do it (Yes you can delete the files from your current site and upload your new one to the same place, however you will have to redo any web apps and such that you may have). I am almost done my redesign and will just be paying for the hosting and will use my free one to mess around with. Not the answer you were looking for I know.

5iveMEDIA Jul 2, 2012 8:27 PM (in response to Brad Lawryk)Agree Brad.
Not the answer, but thanks for an answer.
Sounds like I'm preaching to the choir wishing I could actually use a template and "apply it".
May as well just build a custom site.

3. Re: what is the best way to apply a template to the rebranded partner site?
mario_gudelj Jul 2, 2012 10:19 PM (in response to 5iveMEDIA)Hey there,
If you want to access those partner site templates, layouts and everything else, here are some FTP details you can use:
host: maxdesigncompany.businesscatalyst.com
username: maxdesigncompany.businesscatalyst.com/download-partner-template@email.com
password: password
Feel free to log in through FTP and download the whole site. All the modules should work since the module IDs on your site will match those on this site.
Cheers,

5iveMEDIA Jul 3, 2012 4:50 PM (in response to mario_gudelj)Hey I appreciate your help Mario. Thanks for the response. the only problem with that particular set of files (while usefull no doubt) is that it is a re-set to the very beginning of my membership; rather than an open directory of the various templates that I've bought and acquired. I'd rather have that exact type of access; but to the more modern, relevant files. I actually still have that blue site backed up somewhere. Can you point me in the direction of the other stuff?

5. Re: what is the best way to apply a template to the rebranded partner site?
mario_gudelj Jul 3, 2012 5:30 PM (in response to 5iveMEDIA)That's the only partner site template we have. All the other templates are small business owner templates. If you need those simply trigger a new site and download them. I can't think of any other templates you may want. I'm sorry if I've missed the point.

6. Re: what is the best way to apply a template to the rebranded partner site?
5iveMEDIA Oct 29, 2012 10:06 PM (in response to mario_gudelj)Thanks again, Mario for this. Hey that download still works, that's great. I just pulled it down. Question... If I have a template created by doing what you suggest above; by triggering a new site, and pulling it down fresh; can I then push it up over another bc site, and of course I'll need to adjust the menus, page content, and such... but is there anything else I should worry about breaking? LIke, will the forms be able to work, or will they all need rebuilt, and re-placed?

7. Re: what is the best way to apply a template to the rebranded partner site?
Liam Dilley Oct 29, 2012 11:22 PM (in response to 5iveMEDIA)You mainly should be concerned with that if someone looks for someone building with BC they will see your site, while a little different it will be the same as others using this template.
As a potential customer this can be offputting if your not showcasing your skills with BC.
Making your own site is indeed one of the hardest things to do as your busy doing others but if your starting it should be foremost in the mind. IF you can not walk the talk why would I go to you? Is the thought.
So keep that in mind. -
8. Re: what is the best way to apply a template to the rebranded partner site?
5iveMEDIA Oct 29, 2012 11:33 PM (in response to Liam Dilley)Agreed. Sound advice. I'm just still trying to figure out the moving parts
of the bc template structure, whether my hand coding, muse or a template
purchased from gurus or tribe. I am still, after a year attempting to
understand the file structure and the differences between bc sites, and
also with respect to a traditional file hierarchy of nested folders. That's
why I ask, not really out of an aesthetics sort of reasoning Liam. Thanks
for the reply, however. I appreciate your time. I was more addressing what
Mario said about the module id numbers matching... Did he mean that they
would line up, since it was the exact same template as it had started with?

Any updates on it?
Thanks.
