use a movieclip button and you should have no trouble.
Hi, what do you mean by movieclip button? I have all my six buttons as movieclip buttons. The thing is id like to have the first mc btn plays its animation when the user first visits and then after that it goes away
a couple of things you could do here: first you could set up a conditional statement, with a variable, set it to true on the first run then it wont play again (i'll demo below), second, you could remove the mc from the stage after the button is pressed or the animation is completed, but if placed in the IDE you will need to use swapDepths() first, then removeMovieClip();
You could do something like what I've done here:
It uses SharedObjects.
