    5iveMEDIA Community Member

      - issues importing BC sites in Dreamweaver cs6

      - manage sites dialog,

      - flash loader spinning,  "Retrieving site definition..." endlessly.

Try logging out and then log back in at the BC Panel.

If it is a new site accessing for the first time - sometimes I find it connects after I log in to the site admin for that site.

Thanks Brad. It is happening only for the sites that aren't set up in the manager. the few that are (after a fresh os 10.6.8 install and a fresh cs6 install) are fine. The ones that aren't working are all the rest. So, about 4 that connect and show business catalyst as the "type" in the manager, 1 (my main rebraded partner site) that shows as type "dreamweaver" and then maybe 15 I can't import. The reason for the dreamweaver type is that I used the ftp creds to set it up so that I could use it rather thna letting dreamweaver sniff out the creds and serve up my login cred screen to tie it together. I only did that since I was desperate to edit. It's a workaround.

I spent a long time on chat yesterday with Adobe Support.  Deleted prefs, deactivated dreamweaver, restarted, same issues. They filed a support ticket. I'll try to keep this updated if anyone else would like to know. As always, thanks for the help. - T

Today is the 12th. The log at my adobe support cases says they escalated and would contact me within 1-2 business days. I wonder how many business days it has been since the 4th? Still no updates. I've uninstalled and reinstalled dreamweaver. I've double checked my adobe id and I've updated it. I can't log in via the bc panel because it tells me I need to open a bc site via manage sites. Any help is much appreciated.

Still, here on the 27th... No one has gotten back to me. I've been able to import a ste file from an older site and go in to the settings manual copying the site and changing the creds to be able to get into my bc rebranded sites. Still, dreamweaver recognizes them all as the same name in at least one place. I can get in and ftp for the most part however; so... Hmmmm. Dang dreamweaver. Anybody else running 10.6.8 on a macbook and cs6 dreamweaver ahving issues? If so or if anybody knows how to help I'd appreciate hearing about how to make it more stable. And I'd like dreamweaver to work like it did a month or two ago when I first installed the cs6 package. where based on my login it could tell me my sites, and all was recognized....

Is it possible that you can do a screen or video capture of the issue you are having?

I had a similar problem. I determined that I had to launch DW CS6 as an administrator. After which, every thing worked flawlessly again. On my windows 7 machine, I now right-click the DW CS6 icon and choose, "run as administrator" every thing is working great. I don't know if this will help, but i won't hurt to try.

A video capture of the issue would indeed help here. I'm running 10.6.8 and DW CS6 and have no issues.
