Thanks for your time. I have already tried the key listener, it works for most of the keys but not for some of the functional keys, like F3, F5. That's the reason I posted specifically for catching F5.
Well F5 is keycode 116, check for that key:

display.text = "Key was pressed: " + event.keyCode;
if ( event.keyCode == 116)
trace('F5 was press');
It works for me.
I have already tried this, but the issue is When I press F5, the Keyboard Event itself is not triggered, For other keys it works fine. It looks like the event may be captured by the browser and issues a browser refresh. Is it possible to handle it?
I am using Internet Explorer.
