Stan Jones Jul 17, 2012 5:29 PM (in response to Pijetro)What are your settings for the BD transcode?
There is a difference in the MPEG2-DVD and MPEG2-BD preset. Drawing a blank at the moment....

Pijetro Jul 18, 2012 8:00 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Okay, so after many hours of toiling, i've realized that there's a bug in Encore, in where there's extra padding in the output size.
I've transcoded to correct bitrates, and all's well. I verify filesizes within the Sources>Transcode folders.
All assets that will be assembled into a Bluray are correct in size to the bitrates.
I check out the build folder, and everything seems fine.
But for some reason, Encore keeps padding the final output size. I don't know where it's coming from.
I'm not sure about linking to outside sources, but somebody had the same issue in the Cow forums 2 years ago...
I'll keep plugging away...

Encore pads it by re-transcoding?
Even though Encore shows it as needing transcoding, can you set it to "do not transcode"?
If you set the build to build to a folder, does it still pad so much?

I think that was true, but your excess sounds almost double.

4. Re: Encore balloons project size
Pijetro Jul 18, 2012 9:17 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Here's the rundown...
Clips that are ingested, are transcoded, as per bitrate calculator. I verified this by the size of transcode.
Transcoded clips equal roughly same size as ingested clips...This is verified by the source>transcode folder...
Since Encore uses this folder to build a BluRay folder, the output size should equal the transcode folder size (give or take a few megs)..
So what starts off as a build folder of 12 gig, ends up outputting to a folder size of 33gig...
edit:
I've since renamed my .mod files to .mpeg, and it's looking more promising.
However, my audio is lost.
Gonna reboot, and get back..
