Create a Title
Put it on a video layer above your video
Go to the Effects Window
Find the Motion Tab - open it
have a play.....
Everything that was done there is pretty straight forward. Basically like Shoot mentioned you just create a title make a shape and then the text you want. Then keyframe them using the effects control tab using the motion option. Then if you want you can also scale stuff to make it sort of look more interesting. I'd really recommend you visit lynda.com
Bear with me here please, as I'm migrating from Avid Studio which is like going from junior school to university
Ok I've got motion key framing working using a simple zoom, see below.
The bit I can't get my head round is how to manage the two elements separately within the same title.
For example if I wanted:
1. The logo to fade in and then slow zoom.
2. Then for the text to fade in once the zoom has ended.
Make them separate elements, and keyframe each as desired.
If you want the logo to fade in, then add a cross dissolve to it. Then use the effects control panel/scale option and set two keyframes the first one with a smaller number the second one with a larger number. Then stick a cross dissolve effect on the text you want to fade in and arrange it in the timeline so that it lines up with where your scale for the logo has ended.
Honestly though I'd really recommend you go to lynda.com it will be the best money you have probably ever spent IMO. It will help you get the basics down.
