I am designing instructional content for a DPS app that is going to rely heavily upon master pages. As I want to make this file easy to use for people of all skill levels, I was hoping that there might be a way to have certain objects on master pages automatically be unlocked when the master is applied. That way the user won't have to manually unlock them using Cmd + click.
I have tried asking around to no avail to see if this is possible. If anyone knows a way to do this, or if there is a script of some sort that could accomplish this, that would be great.
Any help appreciated, thanks!
In InDesign CS6, there is the new concept of a Primary Text Frame. The Primary Text Frame, when placed on the master page (there can only be one PTF), will not have to be overriden with Cmd/Ctrl + Shift-clicking on a page based on that master page.
A script would likely be the key here since master items are by definition locked to the master. You could also make some of the items on the master non-overridable and that way you could simply override all master item and bring the rest of them to the live page.
