What is your operating system & version?
How do you see it is downloading a 32-bit version?
Please don't post the same question multiple times!

There is nothing in your reply; we cannot help you if you don't answer the questions.
It is obvious I do not understand the system. I did return a reply at the end of each question but obviously this info did not transmit. Hopefully this time I can provide the info. My computer is running on Windows 7 (64 bit).
When I down load Adobe Flash Player it advises it was completed successfully however when I go in to check the down load it shows up as Flash Player 32 bit even though the down load page in the first instance identifies my computer as 64 bit system.
Please bear with me in providing the correct information you are requesting/seeking.
From where are you downloading Flash Player? From the following site? http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
What happens when you double-click the downloaded file to install it?
Could you please go to the following site and let us know what you see: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Thank you for your response. I followed the path on the web site you provided and although Internet Explorer on my computer is IE 9 I could not find the path under Tools so I followed the path on IE 8 and actioned as stated and as a result flash player is now working. If I search under all programs I cant find Flash Player but if I look on the Control Panel it shows Flash Player 32 bit. Again thanks for your support.
What files do you have in
- C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?
- C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash ?
if I look on the Control Panel it shows Flash Player 32 bit.
You mean the Control Panel applet (Flash Player Settings Manager), or the installed Flash Player? The CP applet is only 32-bit, even on 64-bit systems.
Please be advised I had another response to my query and he provided the method via ( http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html) Internet Explorer to over come the problem and Flash Player is now working. Thanks for your help in this matter. In response to your query the item in Macromed/Flash is Flash Uti32.

As you could see from my previous response, there are two locations where Flash Player is installed
- 64-bit player: C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
- 32-bit player: C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash
