    Cross referencing range of figures?

    griffindog

      Am using CS5.

I am trying to cross-reference a range of figures and am getting stuck.

I have a list defined for figures and I have the paragraph style set up to display "Figure #.  "

When I cross reference a single figure, no problems.  However, if I need to cross reference a range, for a example "Figures 5 through 9," then I can't figure out how to do that.

I don't want it to say "Figure 5 through Figure 9."  I want it show up as "Figures 5 through 9."

Any ideas?  I looked into the DTP tools Cross Reference PRO but I don't want to spend over $100 on something just for this one feature that I need.

I also saw someone post an idea about creating an invisible character style, then applying that to the two words "figure" and manually entering the word "figures."  That sort of works except my second figure # disappers every time the cross references are updated.

I'm at a loss, any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!
