Audio constantly stops and plays when playing timeline

      Hi,

This problem has been happening since i upgraded to CS6 (I've never experienced anything like this on CS4, CS5, CS5.5). Basically, I play the timeline and the audio randomly stops playing and comes back after a few seconds (more than a few seconds sometimes) and then it goes off again and back. I only edit DSLR footage this days........really, really frustrating problem!

      it kills my productivity!

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is related to. This is my PC:

      Windows 7 64bit

      Intel® Core™i7 Processor Extreme Edition i7-980X (3.33GHz)

      ASUS® P6T7 WS SUPERCOMPUTER

      12GB SAMSUNG DDR3 TRI-DDR3 1333MHz (3 x 4GB)

      GEFORCE GTX480

I dont have a dedicated sound card but an onboard but i dont think this is a problem??? (its never been on any other computers that I've had).

The problem might be a bit more obvious when playing the sequence on 'full' quality but i cant really say affirm this 100%.

Do I my PC need more memory? is a Premiere bug? i was thinking of upgrading to 24gb anyway......

      thanks in advance
