I've never undersood why so many shortcuts require modifier keys, expecially 'different' modifiers between Mac and Windows. Since we go back and forth between them we created a simplified version.
For instance, we replace Alt+[ with just the [ key, and Alt + ] with just ]. Why press Alt when you really don't need to?

Exactly. Many shortcuts in Premiere have pointless modifiers when there's no need for them.

Bill Hunt Jul 29, 2012 10:17 AM (in response to Sebasvideo)The only caveat to that process would be to check carefully that there is not already a keyboard shortcut (without the modifier keys), that would be overwritten. Now, if it is not one that you would ever use, no harm, no foul.
As the keyboard shortcuts are grouped by the Panel, that has focus, that keyboard shortcut (without the modifier key), might appear in some other Panel - just check it out first.
Good luck,
Hunt

Ann Bens Jul 29, 2012 10:21 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)When chaging shortcuts to keys that are already in use it will tell you and also to which commend it is assigned to.
