I created vector art in Illustrator CS6. The .ai file is on a transparent background, and consists entirely of line art and outlined text.
After I open the file in Photoshop, I "save for Web" as a .png file.
Finally, I place the file in Dreamweaver and update the file on my web server.
The finish piece, when viewed in my web browser, looks awful...jagged edges, and blurry.
What is the trick to getting a nice clean "vector" look on the web? I've attached a section of the original vector art (.ai) and the way the .png file looks on the Web.
Thanks
Did you choose PNG-24 as the format?
Is the size it's being displayed on the web page consistent with the pixel count at which you saved it?

Why don't you just "save for web & devices" from Illustrator? In the save dialog, you can specify the pixel dimensions.
As Noel noted, the save should be consistent with how it will be displayed on the web page.
