Premiere Elements 10 - Applicaton Error - Codec

    TonyHeslington

      Hello Please Help,

Prayer:  May the Adobe gods be kind to us all!  Please help me master adobe, please help me.

My adobe Premiere Elements 10 is crashing too often!  (Long email sorry)

This seems to happen on my machine when I'm working on larger projects, not so much smaller ones.

I get a window named: Adobe Premiere Elements.exe - Application Error

The contents will say something like:  The instruction at "0x20481692" referenced memory at "0x00000004".  The memory could not be "read".     Click on OK to terminate the program.

I examine the event viewer and found many of the following errors:

I looked up this mc_bc_dec_avc.dll file and it is related to a CODEC from a copy called MainConcept.  There does not appear to be an update to this codec from the vendor.

      The Machine

      XP 32Bit

      4Gb Memory

      Lots of Hard disk free

Have reinstalled the software.  Version 10

There does not appear to be any updates avaiable for the software.

The codec resides in an adobe folder on the machine.  Had a look with GSPOT it didn't seem to indicate any trouble.

There does not appear to be any updates at MainConcept.

      Please help!
