1. Re: uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module
john beardsworth Aug 2, 2012 1:31 PM (in response to SF Ellen)Book is for creating books, web for web galleries - they're separate end products.
What you can do is export the book as a PDF and put that online / email it to the client. Then they get to see the book in a way that looks more book-like. Alternatively, you might export the pages as JPEGs, reimport them, put them in a gallery. Or you could upload the book to Blurb and share the book from there.

2. Re: uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module
SF Ellen Aug 2, 2012 1:38 PM (in response to john beardsworth)John--part of the problem is that I can't see where I can export my book pages as Jpeg spreads, I only see an option to export as PDF. Am I missing something?

3. Re: uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module
john beardsworth Aug 2, 2012 1:58 PM (in response to SF Ellen)It's in the Book Settings panel, in the first drop down box. Also, that's a 4.1 addition.

4. Re: uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module
SF Ellen Aug 2, 2012 2:09 PM (in response to john beardsworth)Oho! I see that! How did I miss that!
John--you have save my you-know-what today!!! THANK YOU!
OK--one last question since you seem to know everything--can I export the jpegs as a spread (ie--page 1 and 2 on a single 12" x 24" jpeg for 12" x12" book) Or do I need to import the jpegs back into photoshop and lay them together manually...does that make sense?
And thanks again for all your help today.
Ellen

5. Re: uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module
john beardsworth Aug 2, 2012 2:13 PM (in response to SF Ellen)I'm pretty sure they're individual pages, Ellen. I must admit that I feel the PDF is much better for reviewing - if you have Acrobat Pro, you can edit the PDF and set the initial view to 2-up, prevent it being printed etc.

6. Re: uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module
SF Ellen Aug 2, 2012 2:18 PM (in response to john beardsworth)John--I did not know about the 2-up feature/print prevention. I only recenly upgraded to Acrobat Pro and have not explored it very much, I will look into that!
I work with an album company that needs jpegs--hence the desire to export it that way-but Its interesting to hear that PDF is better for viewing. I had always assumed that an online gallery was better, but perhaps I have that wrong!

7. Re: uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module
john beardsworth Aug 2, 2012 2:53 PM (in response to SF Ellen)In Acrobat Pro, look at File > Properties > Initial View. Like a lot of things, it just depends on your specific requirements and preferences, but I feel a more book-like experience works better when approving a book layout, and with some clients it's better to lock things down, just in case. You can always export the JPEGs later.
