1. Re: Where Did Work Area Choice Go
Stan Jones Aug 4, 2012 7:21 PM (in response to jbiggs-nyc)Are you exporting to Encore (method is same as always), or sending to Encore (dynamic link, in which you can only send a whole sequence). If the latter, nest your sequence into a new sequence, and reduce so you have only the part you want to send to Encore in the new sequence.
Edit: by same as always, it may have changed a bit. When you export, look to the source tab on the left of the export window, and the "source range" at the bottom.

jbiggs-nyc Aug 4, 2012 8:07 PM (in response to JSS1138)Still dont get it.
So I go Fle>Adobe Dynamic Link ? Per your message, no.
Or file>export>media? I can output a mv2, then open encore, import, but this seems like an extra step.
Or am I mssing this completely?

4. Re: Where Did Work Area Choice Go
Stan Jones Aug 4, 2012 8:25 PM (in response to jbiggs-nyc)I take your answer to be that you are sending to Encore from Premiere, either using the direct frm Premeire to burn, or starting an Encore project from Premiere.
And, yes, CS3 would do what CS4 through CS6 can not do: send only part of a sequence to Encore.

5. Re: Where Did Work Area Choice Go
jbiggs-nyc Aug 5, 2012 8:03 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Thanks. I've spent hours and hours looking for this. Wish Adobe had asked me before changing it. I often burn sub-sections of my timeline when working on projects, and really wish they had kept the "burn work area" function for discs.

6. Re: Where Did Work Area Choice Go
Stan Jones Aug 5, 2012 9:05 AM (in response to jbiggs-nyc)There are others who bemoaned loss of the burn DVD from Premiere; not so many who focused on the loss of work area selection when doing so.
The workaround is not too bad.... But it is a workaround.
