When I import photos into LR, I specifiy that my previews render 1:1. I realize this slows the import ptocess but as I understand the issue, the response time within LR for editing is faster.
That being said, when I go back and look at my shots in LR from say for example, 3 years ago. I selct a folder that in this example has 138 jpgs. The first several appear as thumbnails almost right away but the rest have to be rendered. This process takes as long as 30 seconds to render the rest of the thumbnails in that folder. Do you think this is a result of processing speed on my PC? Running Windows 7 64 bit.
Just did another test, this time with 295 RAW files. It's been well over 2 minutes and they are still not all rendered. To be honest, they don't seem to render until I actually scroll down to the list. In otherwards, simply opening the file of 295 in Grid view doesn't cause them all to render. I have to physically scroll down through the images to get them to appear.
Any thoughts?
