2. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Howard Hoffman Aug 12, 2012 2:43 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)Just downloaded it. It seems to use tsMuxer for demuxing. tsMuxer does not output m4v. Instead, it creates .264 file. Do you know an optin to reproduce .m4v (output from AME)?
Thanks

3. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Jeff Bellune Aug 12, 2012 3:05 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Encore accepts .264 files, as does the AME. Along with the .264 file, Clown BD will create either a TS file, an M2TS file, an M2TS file in a Blu-ray folder structure, or a Blu-ray + ISO. Why do you need the M4V file?

4. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Howard Hoffman Aug 12, 2012 3:09 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)I want to make a tiny change to the Encore project (menu). I've saved all the files needed for the projects except m4v and ac3, which I expect to be able to extract from the disc when needed (done that for DVD). If I replaced it with .h264 file, I'd have to go through the whole workflow again.

Jeff Bellune Aug 12, 2012 3:14 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)I may not understand exactly what you're trying to do or how you're trying to do it, but have you tried the Replace Footage command?

6. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Howard Hoffman Aug 12, 2012 3:18 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)I have created an Encore project a while back, completed it and burned the BD.
After that, I've lost the original m4v and ac3 files. But all files in the Encore project folders are saved.
Now, I'd like to make a minor change in the menu. If I open the project now, it will ask me where are the m4v and ac3 files. I am hoping to extract them from the disc, precise down to each frame.
Is there way to do so? Thanks

7. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Ann Bens Aug 13, 2012 8:12 AM (in response to Howard Hoffman)If you only need to change the menu, the video files can be ripped of the BD. Look in the stream folder they are the m2ts files. Use them instead.

8. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Jeff Bellune Aug 13, 2012 9:14 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Ann is correct. To clarify, your M4V and AC3 files are gone forever. When En built the Blu-ray disc, they were transcoded and converted into muxed M2TS files and put in the Stream folder on the disc.
You will have to use the ripped, muxed files to replace the menu background videos in the project. It should be as easy as re-linking the Video and Audio controls of the Motion tab of the Menu Properties to the muxed M2TS assets.

9. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Howard Hoffman Aug 13, 2012 9:43 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Yes, I did see those m2ts files. The question is whether I can extract the m4v and ac3 from it. It's suggested not to mux these files from AME so that I have them separate in Encore project.

10. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Ann Bens Aug 13, 2012 1:43 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Those m2ts files will not be re-encoded so no need to demuxe.

11. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Stan Jones Aug 13, 2012 2:01 PM (in response to Ann Bens)I think he is wanting to get the video/audio for his timelines, not the menu. Can he do a replace for those original assets with an m2ts?

12. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Howard Hoffman Aug 13, 2012 2:26 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Yes, that's what I want to do:
Open the Encore project
Change the menu a bit
Rebuild and burn the disc
The project contains .m4v and .ac3 for the timeline and Encore is asking me where to locate them.

13. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Ann Bens Aug 13, 2012 2:31 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Try replace asset or delete the m4v and ac3 and insert th m2ts on the timeline.

14. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Howard Hoffman Aug 13, 2012 6:17 PM (in response to Ann Bens)Replacing asset won't work because they are of different format.
Removing m4v and ac3 means that I have to reset all those chapter markers.

15. Re: Reconstruct Blu-ray project from burned disc
Howard Hoffman Aug 18, 2012 4:01 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)I guess there is so such solution.
For project with a single audio track, would it better to create muxed m2ts for authoring? What's the advantage to have demuxed files?
Thanks
