    CHALLENGE - set CD image to desktop wallpaper

    flashmebaby
      I am making a flash CD and would like to allow the user to change their desktop wallpaper by clicking a button in my swf file. Has anyone had any experience with setting this? I have Flashjugglor and Northcode but still no luck. Northcode has a sample file but does not work properly, the image disappears after you restart your PC. Flashjugglor will have a beta soon but still nothing that will serve my purposes now.

            Hmmm... Sounds like the email I received recently about the same
            problem.

            The solution was to use a free tool I created a few years ago called
            WallPapr.exe and to call that from SWF Studio V3.

            The "trick" is to copy the bitmap to the HD before installing it as
            the wallpaper so it doesn't disappear when the CD is removed :)

            You can get the FREE WallPapr utility from:

            http://www.northcode.com/misc/wallpapr.zip

            You can download a FREE TRIAL version of SWF Studio V3 from:

            http://www.northcode.com

            The SWF Studio V3 source to install the bitmap looks like this:

            ssCore.init();
            ssDefaults.synchronousCommands = true;

            r = ssCore.FileSys.specialFolder({folderID:"AppData"});

            if (r.success)
            {
            folder = r.result;

            r = ssCore.FileSys.copyFile({from:"startdir://wallpaper\\1.bmp",
            to:folder+"\\1.bmp"});

            if (r.success)
            {
            ssCore.Shell.execute({path:"startdir://wallpapr.exe",
            arguments:"center " + folder+"\\1.bmp"});
            }

            }

            That's it!
