This was my reason for upgrading to cs6 and it doesn't work.
I contacted help they said it was a setting on my computer.
I have re installed dreamweaver 3 times and have updated my osx to the latest.
Still nothing.

"Business Catalyst" designation off of all the sites in my list. So I had
to go back in to: Dreamweaver/Sites/Manage Sites and reset them all to
Business Catalyst (the site type). Once I did that, BC was enabled and I
had access to all the modules, etc...
I'm not sure that is your problem or not, but it's worth looking into.

daddycooler Sep 25, 2012 5:24 AM (in response to Opti8n)Same issue. I can login, view the remote server. My logins all work, yet for some reason the BC window just shows, "contacting the server...please wait" and nothing happens.
The site type is set as Business catalyst.
One post suggested running dreamweaver as admin. Does that work and how does one do it on a mac? Firewall is set to accept incoming DW CS6 connections. If it is a computer setting, which one?

daddycooler Sep 25, 2012 8:52 AM (in response to daddycooler)I may be wrong, but I am beginning to suspect this is something to do with old BC partner login details being confused with new adobe ID's when the merger took place in April 2012. My original partner portal login for the site in question was different to my adobe ID and although things have been merged it is still essentially a new creative cloud partner portal and the old partner portal, which isn't really accessible any more, hence the possible problem.

deamareedys Jan 31, 2013 6:50 AM (in response to Opti8n)Try to remember about updates you made.
The culprit is the last update. If you own a Dreamweaver version purchased few months ago, this version is clean of the last update.
Deactivate and then uninstall Dreamweaver CS6.
Install Dreamweaver again. Now Dreamweaver is clean. Don't get updates until you will be sure that they fixed this bug.
I fixed but, I had no patience and today got one more time the update and I have the same problem again!

When I try to get the business catalyst panel to display the modules I get contacting server please wait that does not resolve. I have been using the trial version of dreamweaver CS6 dated april 2012. I have tried running as admin. I have tried updating (makes it worse cant login at all). I will continue to research fixes but for me this is a program breaking glitch.

In the Manage Sites it, when I click on Import or New BC site and on the BC module to "login" nothing happens... the dialogue shows briefly and then is gone. CS6 syncing with BC with ease was a big reason why I upgraded... frustrating.

Opti8n Mar 20, 2013 7:45 AM (in response to Kyle Sawyer)Kyle - Did you read "deamareedy's" reply above? Sounds like you installed the latest Dreamweaver update. Uninstall Dreamweaver and re-install and don't install the update... that should correct the issue. I have turned off the Update Notification for Dreamweaver in the Adobe Manager until they fix the issue. I just recently purchased a new PC and had to install the Adobe Suite and the problem with the Dreamweaver Update is still ongoing so I'm working with the base Dreamweaver install and all is fine.

(Thanks for getting on the problem Adobe) Anyway, since I first reported the problem I have purchased a brand new PC (this month) with a fresh install of CS6... I intentionally did not upgrade Dreamweaver CS6 because as soon as you do you lose all Business Catalyst function. Everything was fine until this morning when I logged on to work, launched Dreamweaver and again... I CAN'T LOG INTO BUSINESS CATALYST THROUGH DREAMWEAVER! Worked fine yesterday but today not so much... so here we go again - unistall Dreamweaver re-install and hope it works. Not the most efficient system but when Adode doesn't respond to bug fixes for over half a year... there isn't much you can do. I'm a paid partner too... what a disgrace.

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Delete the opm.db file
Re-launch Dreamweaver. Hopefully this works for you.
