Duplicate title tags from blog tags + archive

Hi Matt,

I suspect you have a link somewhere that looks like this <a href="rpo.html">something</a>. Change it to <a href="/rpo.html">something</a> and the page name won't be appended to URLs like that.

I am experiencing this issue also. Within webmaster tools, it says I have 26 duplicate title tags. I've attached a screenshot to show all of the links this is effecting and you will see they are all generated from the blog calendar, tags and list pages (apart from a couple which seem to be using the old style url!?).

As these pages are all automatically generated, how can I get around all of these pages having the same title? It only seems possible to add an overall title by going Modules > Blogs > (select blog) > More options.

Have you inplemented the new blog title taga and meta description tags so they render unique for each blog post and turned on the SEO urls?

Yes the new blog URLs were turned on quite a few weeks back. I've checked the other forum posts you mention with regards to the

{tag_blogpostmetatitle} and {tag_blogpostmetadescription} tags, but am I right in thinking these tags are for the "details layout"?

The pages I have duplicated data with are the list pages. Therefore, should there be another set of tags or process for this tempate?

Anybody have a solution to this duplication on the blog list pages?

I am also having this problem! I've had the blog for years but in the past few months this error has also showed up in my moz.com Pro account reporting as duplicate content.

Any suggestions guys?

Same problem here. I am still trying to figure out how to fix this issue. The problem is that, when you add a tag on a post, both URLs (url of the post and url of the added tags) have then the same title tags, and since Google considers different URLs as different pages, then the two become duplicates.

Possible solution:

Perphas we can modify the CMS codes - should include codes that can generate different title tag for 'tag' URL, or, maybe we can just redirect the URL of the added tag to the URL of the post to avoid duplicate (this is possible on wordpress, using plugin) but, up until now, I am still trying to figure out on how to do it on BC.

No wasn't able to figure this one out! You would hope that BC address this issue, but it's been outstanding for a long time now.
