These little icons that appear in the middle center bottom of an IE window for Save, Print, Navigate, Zoom, etc... do not do anything. The overlay kind of just flashes and disappears.
The traditional style toolbar is not at the top of the window either, so this is the only toolbar that appears when you hover in the lower middle.
Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
Adobe Standard 10.1.3
Adobe Reader 10.1.4
I installed Adobe Reader 10.1.4 and it did the same thing. I found on a Microsoft forum a solution to open Reader, go to Edit > Preferences > Internet and uncheck display in browser.
This did change the behavior and now when we click on a PDF link, a new window opens up with a small orange/white box at the bottom asking to save or open. Now when we click open it launches adobe reader and we can save or print the file.
I originally wanted to right click on the PDF links on the website and save target as... but some websites are making the hyperlinks javascript() stuff so IE doesn't even give you the option to save target as anymore.
I just want to bring this up to Adobe's attention that these controls are broken in IE9 / Acrobat X and hopefully they are fixed because it would be very convenient to have the controls right there, than have to change settings that make the system ask Open/Save/Cancel.
