Removing/editing one effect in multiple clips at the same time.

I applied a certain effect to about 50 clips and coming back to the project I want to remove and/or edit just this one effect from all my clips. Coming from a program like Lightroom for photos this is an absolute cakewalk to do. Select all the images and either uncheck the effect you no longer want to use and click "sync" or go into that one effect and adjust sliders and click "sync." All the changes/deletions/additions will then be applied to all clips.

How do you do it in Premiere? CS5.5. It seems so obvious. Can't believe I'm missing it.

I do NOT want to just erase all effects in a clip.
