1. Re: Prelude for Documentary Filmmakers
NuoYaLin Oct 24, 2012 7:46 AM (in response to eserym)Hi, I am testing a Prelude / Premiere workflow for a documentary projects these days.
True, a printable list of markers might be useful, especially if you have a lot of footage and not three or four screens to have a complete list of all markers opened every time.
So what my workflow is (and I am interested in others' opinions and workflows, too!):
In Prelude I make a subclip out of every pontentially usable clip and name it with tags, something like: TYPE OF CLIP / Location / Action / People involved / number
This way I don't have to rename my original files, which might end up pretty messy if you are ding offlined editing.
Also these names that I give the subclips make them easy find with the search function in Prelude and Premiere.
And then I use the comment marker to indicate "special events" inside the clip, like zooms, quotations, actions ...
This why I don't handle with the original clips at all in Premiere but only with the tagged and commented subclips. If i look for something I just put in any of my "self-made" tags into the search function, like a person's name, a location, an action or a combination of all. This just requires that you use the exact same names for people, places etc. while making the subclips in Prelude.
What do you think? Any better suggestions?
