Whenever I try to open an image in CS6 all it shows is a checkerboard background used for when there isn't any layers.
However, to get them to appear I have to convert the image color mode on a 8bit channel to Lab Color from RGB Color. I have to do the same with a PSD, except it says it's best if i Flatten the image.
Is there anyway I can open up an image without having to convert it?
To rule out an issue, like having the Visibility of Layers with pixel content turned OFF, can you post a screen-cap of one of the offending Images with the Layers Palette open?
Correct me, if I am wrong, but it appears that you have Visibility turned OFF in that screen-cap. Is that correct?
What happens if you turn Visibility of one of the Layers ON?
