1. Re: File naming-new capture
tclark513 Aug 28, 2012 11:18 AM (in response to winger999)This is a bug in CS6. Please submit a bug report so hopefully it will get fixed.
Work around...you have to name the clip in the clip name box to the right before you capture it.

Just upgraded to PP6 and have a bit of a problem. When I do a new video capture from tape, PP will not let me name the file. The process seems the same, but when I type in my new file name, I get an error message saying "cannot change file, keeping original name". When I check my folder, the file is there with the name "untitled clip 01", ect. I can rename the clip in the folder, but when working on a large project this gets to be a pain. I figure this is a feature of some sort (auto save?), but can't figure it out. Any help?
Thanks,
Steve
Has this been fixed in the new update 6.0.2? I'm afraid to update with all the issues coming from 6.0.2.
Thanks!

canino video Sep 14, 2012 12:54 AM (in response to tclark513)Not exactly the same problem but in 6.02 as you are capturing a clip you cannot change the clip name until you stop capture. No error message, just no change. Did not work this way in 5.5 or below, you used to be able to rename a clip during capture. Don't know about 6.0 as I upgraded straight to 6.02. Anybody?

Thanks! That works for me. As long as you can name the clip "after" you capture it that is what I am used to. I never had to name a clip "during" capture.

JSS1138 Sep 14, 2012 7:44 AM (in response to tclark513)The best work flow here is to name the clip before capture. Works every time.

tclark513 Sep 14, 2012 11:18 AM (in response to JSS1138)Would rather name it after.

JSS1138 Sep 14, 2012 12:43 PM (in response to tclark513)Well, then you may have to deal with these issues.

12. Re: File naming-new capture
canino video Sep 14, 2012 3:02 PM (in response to tclark513)The reason I might have to name it during capture is because I do live captures on-set, otherwise known as Video Assist. A lot of times you don't have time to name the clip before or after you are capturing, but you do WHILE it is being captured. This DID work in 5.5, now broken in 6.02.
