1. Re: Trying to set markers to skip thru DVD with remote control?
Bill Hunt Aug 31, 2012 2:23 PM (in response to Al Volo)You need Encore Chapter Markers. Those can be added in PrPro, for Import into En (note: if you Export, then Import to En, not all formats will carry those Markers), or can be added in En.
PrPro 2.0 was the last version that allowed for DVD authoring. Now, all authoring is done in Encore.
Good luck,
Hunt

2. Re: Trying to set markers to skip thru DVD with remote control?
Al Volo Aug 31, 2012 2:59 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)Perfect! What I did was go back to my PPRO 5 timeline where I originally tried to set up markers and wrote down the times on the timeline on a piece of paper, then went over to Encore, typed in the times one at a time at “Timeline:” , each time hitting enter, then clicking on the lozenge/plus sign.
Now let's see if I can build again without having to encode again.
Thanks, Bill. I don't know what I would do without you.

3. Re: Trying to set markers to skip thru DVD with remote control?
Bill Hunt Aug 31, 2012 3:09 PM (in response to Al Volo)If you Exported as a 100% DVD-compliant MPEG-2 DVD, you should not need a Re-transcode.
If you did Export to MPEG-2 DVD, remember that it will be GOP (Group of Pictures) and that Chapter Markers can only go on I-Frames, so if you cannot get the En Chapter Marker where you drop it, just find the next I-Frame on either side of where you are trying to place it.
If you have any issues in Encore, there is a great, and very active Encore Forum at: http://forums.adobe.com/community/encore/encore_general
You will see some of the same subscribers there, but some new ones too.
Good luck, and happy authoring,
Hunt
