1. Re: CPS and staging
mvinitsky Jul 7, 2006 10:39 AM (in response to matt_calhoon)It is frustrating how little real information adobe provides. I am already using Contribute but think that maybe we need CPS. I can't figure out from adobe's help pages on www.adobe.com whether deployment into different environments is supported. When they discuss staging/live servers environments on http://livedocs.macromedia.com/contribute/311/deploying_en/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhe lp.htm?context=Deploying_Contribute_and_Contribute_Publishing_Services&file=00000007.htm they talk about copying files and it almost looks like they mean that the user copies them via a script he has to write himself. I was rather looking for a product that would support deployment to multiple sites via the product.
So the question is: do I read the documentation correctly? -
2. CPS and staging
Sudharshan.S Jul 26, 2006 9:56 PM (in response to mvinitsky)Hi,
In order to deploy to multiple live sites from a staging server, there is a devnet article available.
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/contribute/articles/cps_autodeploy.html.
Hope this helps.

3. Re: CPS and staging
Tom Benjamin Sep 27, 2006 9:15 AM (in response to matt_calhoon)I've set up the CPS to deploy from a staging server to a live web server in a Windows environment. The deployment from staging to live can be done using the Simple File Deployer, but it does not support uploading via FTP - it has to be via UNC.
Once you've got the CPS up and running, access its Help and look under Using Contribute Publishing Server > Using the Simple File Deployment service.
