Hazunfefer Sep 8, 2012 1:22 AM (in response to conroy)Smooth zooom while using the scroll wheel still isnt working. Could it be the display drivers? although there are latest Catalyst 12.8 installed.

I don't think the zoom function with the scroll wheel needs open gl as it seems to work the same as previous versions of photoshop that didn't use open gl.
The zoom won't be smooth as in open gl smooth when scrolling with the scroll wheel and if you want to zoom in the same increments as ctrl+ - does
you need to press the shift key while using the scroll wheel.

Hazunfefer Sep 8, 2012 11:55 AM (in response to Jeff Arola)Scroll wheel zoom is working with that option checked, but it isnt smooth zoom (like on CRTL +).
I was just asking is this a bug or a feature with the scroll wheel. Therefore, the scroll wheel doesnt "offer" a smooth zoom. -

Jeff Arola Sep 8, 2012 6:08 PM (in response to Hazunfefer)As far as i know that's the way zoom with scroll wheel is intended to work, i.e doesn't use open gl for the zooming.

6. Re: Photoshop CS5 - smooth zoom
Noel Carboni Sep 8, 2012 6:26 PM (in response to Hazunfefer)FYI, on a PC using Photoshop CS6 the zoom steps are so close together that the zoom seems essentially smooth. Maybe not creamy smooth, but I'd never even really notice it.
The zoom step amounts (10%) seem to be the same as Photoshop CS5 (I just tested both) but interestingly the zoom seems to visit every step in Photoshop CS6 while it jumps steps in CS5, giving it the illusion of feeling smoother.
