how to sort items in Indesign CS6 (Windows)

I have a very large number of dictionary items that I would like to sort in ID CS6. How do I sort them according to the first letter of the item. For example,

      Zoo

      Dog

      Cat

and I want to end up with:

      Cat

      Dog

      Zoo

There must be some simple way which I have not found yet.

      Thanks for any help.

If these word act as seperate paragraphs then there is a pre-defined script "Sort Paragraph" .in the Script Panel.

The script should read the text you select as the paragraph if they are seperated by Tab etc then it will not work and also the sorting will not be based on the First letter only.

If you need sorting to be done in specfic way then it is worth asking on InDesign Scripting Forum.
