In a Mac os 10.6.8 using CS5.5
I can't get Mocha to open, it crashes before opening up. I was told by Imagineer Systems to delete the mocha preferences but that did not work, so they suggested I re-install AE to load in Mocha again. I don't want to lose my presets and 3rd party plugins, scripts, and associated licenses etc.... I would like to know will the uninstall/reinstall overwrite these folders. Thanks in Advance
The re-install does erase the content and installs new pre-sets, scripts-, template, etc.... folders
So if you are re-installing you need to make a copy of those folders to a safe location. And, at least on the Mac, you will also find some plugins stored in the LIBRARY>Application Support>Adobe>Common>MediaCore folder
If you don't check "Delete Application Preferences" in the Uninstaller, everything should be left alone. If you don't want to take any chances, I'd recommend that you clone your boot drive with "Carbon Copy Cloner" before uninstalling, so you can undo that uninstall if you need to.
