    Flash Bones and alpha

      I recently made an animation (after a lot of grief) of a see-saw arrangement with various items swinging around under a bar. Woohoo!

       

      The client brief had the see-saw tipping back and fore, with more and more items.

       

      My plan was to animate the bar with all items, then gradually reveal extra items as the animation played on.

       

      To my horror, setting the alpha of any of the moveiclips in the bone armature causes the element to become detached.

       

      So, imagine two blocks swinging under the bar, attached by string, bar tips, blocks swing about.

       

      If I set the alpha of one block to (say) 0.5, it then becomes completely detached from the IK Bones animation.

       

      What on earth is going on?
