Invisible text boxes, how to select ?? In Design CS 5.5

    Ceencha Community Member

Is there an easy way to select invisible text boxes besides just using the mouse to search and search and search and finally find them?

Can the links window be used for this ??  I cannot seem to locate the boxes in the links window.

I use them for the purposes of wrapping text around complex images like this:

Fastest way I know is to select all and see what comes up....

I think you'd do better by using the pen tool to customize the wrap path on the decorative cap, then you wouldn't need to worry about an invisible frame.

@Ceencha – to find "invisible" objects (in fact they are somehow visible to the application, because you can select them), you could use the Layers panel.

There you can find all objects on the active spread.

Just click on the small triangle at the layer name of the Layers Panel and expand the view to all objects within that layer.

You can see their generic names like "<Group>" or "<Rectangle>", if you did not rename the objects.
In case of a text frame its generic name is the start of the contents of the text frame like: "<This is my text frames' contents…>" or it is "<Textframe>", if there is no contents.

You can select them from the Layers panel.
Rename them if you wish to identify them more easily later.
