A file has a lot of comma separated values. I loaded contents of this file into ByteArray . Then used readUTFBytes method on it to get the complete String and then cleared the ByteArray using ByteArray.clear .
Then i splitted the string on comma(,) and remove the reference of the original String. But when i ran the profiler, it still shows the original String into the memory with no GC paths and the allocation trace of that string shows that it was created in ByteArray.readUTFBytes() .
Is it a known memory leak issue ? And can we solve it in actionscript code ?
I have noticed and am experiencing the same problem. My app has an enormous amount of loitering String data because of this bug. I've found no workaround as of this time.
