    Keyword Problem

      Hi,

       

      I have been using PSE for many years now and have decided to change over to LR but I have been struggling with keywords and I think that I'm missing something. I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction - as I've come from PSE, the terminology might be a bit different.

       

      1) Displaying Keywords for a photo - In PSE, the properties panel can list all the Tags associated with a photo. The only way I can see the keywords for a photo in LR is to go to the keywords list, expand all the sub levels and look for check marks. Is there a simpler/easier way?

       

      2) Displaying a photo for a keyword - I have a keyword which has a count of 1 against it. If I try to filter by that keyword (by clicking the right arrow next to the count) nothing is displayed. I tried making a collection with just the keyword specified and it contains one photo but again nothing is displayed. I suspect that it might be something to do with version sets brought over from PSE but I've tried unstacking everything and still can't find the photo.

       

      Any help appreciated.

          1). Yes...much easier:

          If the Keywording panel doesn't show, right-click on one of the other headers on the right side and make sure the appropriate item is checked.

           

          I can't answer your question number 2,,,sorry.

            Hal,

             

            Many thanks - I knew there must be a simpler way - I just missed the expand button!

             

            As for the other problem, I think I am just going to delete the keyword.

              Hi,

               

              I think I may have found the reason for the incorrect counts and I'm updating this thread just in case someone else has the problem.

               

              In my case, I think the error was caused by a slideshow stored in my PSE catalog. This seems to have been removed when I converted my catalog to LR but the counts were not updated.

               

              I have fixed the problem on my system by selecting all the photos with the keyword and assigning a temporary keyword. I then deleted the incorrect keyword and renamed the temporary one.
