So today InDesign (CS5) decided it would not show my paragraph styles. In fact, it doesn't show any of the icons that normally appear at the bottom of the paragraph styles palette either. Tried importing styles from another document, and they will show up if I go to the pull down menu under New Paragraph Style > Based On, but they don't show up in my Paragraph Styles palette. And the Characters Styles palette looks just fine.
I already trashed my preferences and relaunched InDesign, but this didn't solve the problem.
Any other suggestions?
That worked brilliantly. FYI, what I did before was go to Library > Preferences and deleted the
com.adobe.InDesign.plist file, which has worked in the past, but didn't today. Your solution (cmd-ctrl-opt-shift on restart) did work and I thank you for saving me some headaches Peter!
That's a common error. While some applications store their preferences in that way, Adobe applications to not.
